Introduction Continued:

While in Massachusetts, 1986 to 1989, Concetta reunited with her family after 25 years.  She visited her step-brother Frank Samuturo and his wife, Josie.  She spent a couple days with them and they tried to help her remember what she had blocked out during that time.  They showed her pictures of Phyllis and Alexander when they were babies.  They gave her these pictures which she carried with her everywhere she went.  The daughters Beverly and or Carol are now in possession of these pictures.

In 1987, Carol contacted Leo LeDoux's widow, Vera LeDoux.
She refused to speak to her and would not give her any information.  Leo had died in 1987 and Carol's daughter Tina again tried to contact Vera in 1988.  This time she talked.  She sent all the pictures she had (or so she said) which weren't many, which included a graduation picture of Phyllis.  All she could really tell us was that Phyllis moved away from home as soon as she graduated from high school at 18 years.  She hadn't had any contact with her.  That Phyllis was a hateful child, Vera didn't know what she did wrong as a stepparent.  Leo and Vera, according to Vera tried everything they could with the children but they were ungrateful.  Vera was unable to have any children of her own. She did have cats which she thought of as her own children.  She said the last she heard was that Phyllis married a fireman, Lt. Hanbury, who died along with eight other firemen, in the Hotel Vendome Fire of 1972 or 1973 in Boston.  They had one child, John.  Phyllis put John in a boarding school and kept him away from the family.  The last time Vera heard from Alexander was in 1983.  He was always in trouble, he worked with friends of Grandpa Chillemi, he called her and said if you don't hear from me again just know that I love you.  Vera kept in contact with Alexander's son, James John LeDoux after Leo died.  Tina called Jim and found out that he does not have a good relationship with his father and doesn't know where his father is.  Jim had just gotten married and his wife had just had a baby named Kirstyn.  Concetta's wish was to find Phyllis and Alexander before she died, however the best we could do was show her the pictures we had gotten from Vera. She kept these in her room which my mother (Carol) has.  Every time we tried to reach Phyllis and Alexander over the last  8 years, we kept hitting road blocks.  It is frustrating to say the least.  Vera bonded with Tina, calling out of the blue just to talk.  Vera would even call Tina in Colorado, when Concetta lived with Carol and Tina.  Vera would try to be as helpful as she could.  Vera was very lonely, she had no one, only her cats.  One day, Vera stopped calling and Tina couldn't get a hold of her to find out if she had any other information.  Vera knew that Concetta was alive and was sorry for what Leo did.  Vera never knew Concetta personally and Leo didn't speak much about Concetta.
